Response relates to Reports of an Attack on NV Sunshine in the Middle East
On October 9, 2026, several domestic and international websites and media reported that the vessel NV Sunshine had been attacked while operating in the Strait of Hormuz, raising concerns about the safety of the ship and its crew.
To prevent the spread of inaccurate information that could affect the business operations of PetroVietnam Transportation Corporation (PVTrans) and its member companies, PVTrans would like to clarify the following:
Immediately upon learning of these reports, PVTrans directed Nhat Viet Transportation Corporation (NVTrans), the member company that owns, manages, and operates NV Sunshine, to promptly verify the vessel’s status. After direct contact with the Captain and other relevant parties, NVTrans confirmed that the reports of an attack on NV Sunshine in the Strait of Hormuz are false.
NV Sunshine was not attacked. All crew members and cargo on board are safe, and the vessel continues to operate normally and on schedule.
